The Hoarder

Her foot, a fist or lotus,

fish-pale, knuckled, bare;

her, breast-stroking

from couch to bath amid

toys for the unborn,

old papers, family pics,

past-due bills, plastic singing

Xmas cards: we call this

dry drowning.

To whit, her legs tucked up:

“In my heart I know

I’m sunk.”

Him, at the Dentist

Tenzin Gyatso had a tooth

pulled in Toronto; dope, you hope

it was the wisdom.

Japa malas – the prayer beads of Tibet –

are made of coral, gold, rattan seeds

(moon and stars), or

the skulls or bones of monks: ergo

is the 14th Dalai Lama’s jaw a sutra:

bliss, and emptiness.
